In October, the ‘2023 Seoul EOU Cup U-18 International Youth Soccer Tournament (hereinafter ‘Seoul EOU Cup’)’ will be held in Seoul for the peace and environment of the earth. The U-18 men’s national teams of Korea, Ukraine, Vietnam, and Morocco will participate in this tournament for three days on the 10th, 12th, and 15th at the main stadium of Mokdong Sports Complex.
The name of the event, EOU, means ‘EARTH ON US’ and contains the meaning of ‘earth and community’. As ‘ALL LIFE ON EARTH DEPENDS ON US’ is the slogan, this tournament aims to promote the importance of a sustainable earth through soccer.
Particularly, the participating countries have a common point of having experienced or are currently experiencing the pain of division and war, and it is meaningful in creating a stage for peace and harmony where 18-year-olds of the same age can sweat together. In addition, the Seoul EOU Cup focuses on sustainability for the next generation and emphasizes the importance of the environment. WWF (World Wildlife Fund) will participate as a partner, and during the event, public transportation and tumbler use will be encouraged, and environmental donation campaigns will be conducted.
Hosted by the Korea Sports Agents Association, sponsored by the Seoul Sports Association, sponsored by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Shinhan Bank, it is held in a full-league format with four teams, with two games a day.
