Có mặt từ sớm tại khuôn viên Khu tưởng niệm chiến sĩ Gạc Ma (xã Cam Hải Đông, huyện Cam Lâm, Khánh Hòa), ông Lê Thanh Dương (du khách từ Bình Định) cho biết cả gia đình bốn người đến Nha Trang được hai hôm. Ông quyết định cùng gia đình vào đây thắp hương cho các chiến sĩ Gạc Ma.
“Lần đầu tôi đến đây, nhìn không khí trang nghiêm cùng 64 di ảnh người lính, tôi rất xúc động. Đặc biệt khi nghe hướng dẫn viên thuyết minh về mộ gió chỉ là nơi khắc tên các anh, còn thi hài lại nằm ngoài biển khơi, tôi đau lòng vô cùng.
Đến đây chúng tôi mới hiểu được giá trị của hòa bình, sự hạnh phúc hiện tại. Trong khuôn viên khu tưởng niệm có trồng nhiều cây bàng vuông và hoa sứ khá đẹp, tôi thích nhất là khu trưng bày ngầm ở dưới với các di ảnh, súng ống, vật dụng của người lính…”, ông Dương nói.

Chiều 14-3, dù thời tiết khá nắng nhưng nhiều người vẫn về bày tỏ lòng tri ân với những người lính đã ngã xuống.
Anh Dư Hoàng Phát (người dân TP Nha Trang) mang theo những bó hoa và trái cây gửi đến các liệt sĩ.
“Tối qua đi ngang chỗ này thấy làm lễ rất lớn, hôm nay mới chở thêm ông anh nữa ra đây viếng. Ngày trước cha tôi cũng làm bên hải quân nên chúng tôi đến đây để tưởng nhớ những người đồng chí như cha nhưng đã hy sinh”, anh Phát nói.

Ngay trong sáng 14-3, đoàn công tác của Bộ tổng tham mưu và Bộ tư lệnh Vùng 4 hải quân cũng đã đến dâng hương tưởng niệm 64 cán bộ, chiến sĩ hải quân đã anh dũng hy sinh để bảo vệ biển, đảo của Tổ quốc.
Sau lễ giỗ chung được người dân, đồng đội đi cùng đợt tổ chức ngày 12-3 cho 64 liệt sĩ hy sinh tại Gạc Ma, sáng 14-3 thêm một lễ tưởng niệm xúc động được Hội Cựu chiến binh công binh hải quân tổ chức bên bờ biển Đà Nẵng.
