Tottenham Hotspur prepare for the ‘post-Kane’ era. And the potential replacement is very young.
“Tottenham are monitoring Nottingham Forest striker Brennan Johnson, 22,” according to British media outlet Football London on July 31. Tottenham have apparently decided they can’t keep Harry Kane, 29, any longer.
Kane came through the Tottenham youth ranks and has been loyal to the club. He’s stayed with a club that can’t win trophies and challenged for the top, but it’s time to consider a move. German Bundesliga side Bayern Munich have been actively pursuing Kane as he looks for a new club.
The Bavarians are ready to make a third offer for Kane. There is even talk of them traveling to London to negotiate with Spurs. Spurs are poised to reject the offer, so we won’t know for sure until early August. Before then, Bayern Munich will increase their offer to £86 million. They’ll throw in Mathis Thiel, the next Kylian Mbappa.
Tottenham have been ordered by owner Joe Louis to sell Kane if they cannot re-sign him this summer. Chairman Daniel Levy, who has so far refused to take no for an answer, will have to take a cue from the owner. The club is now in a position to accept an offer from Bayern Munich if they don’t think they can keep Kane. If the offer is accepted, Bayern Munich will have spent the most money on a player in history. It would be a huge ego boost for Kane.
Tottenham are looking at alternatives. Along with 메이저놀이터 Kolo Moani (Frankfurt), Johnson”s name is slowly emerging. The Welsh international can play up front or as a right wing-forward. Even at his young age, he has shown promise, scoring eight goals and providing three assists in the English Premier League last season.
You’ll have to spend big to get Johnson. Nottingham value Johnson at £50 million. Brentford recently made a lower offer that was rejected. Given Tottenham’s urgency, there may come a time when they need to spend £50 million on Johnson.
